Why is Sleep so important?  It's the time when Your body AND Your Mind can recharge!  It's part of being Healthy!  If You don't get enough good quality Sleep, it can make You irritable and it can make You feel like You're dragging and tired all day!

Not just Sleep, but a good Restful Sleep!

For some people, it's the ability to go to sleep that seems to be the problem.  Some people call this insomnia.  Or when they get to Sleep to stay asleep and get a good night's rest.  When they get in bed - their Mind just doesn't want to be quiet!  Here are a couple of suggestions I make to my clients.*

1 -- When You're ready to go to sleep - turn OFF the TV or radio!  Why?  Because when You're in bed and beginning to relax, You're in Your most receptive state to suggestions.  And You're probably not going to get very many good suggestions from the TV or radio.  Of course some of my very cultured clients tell me they don't watch that "common stuff" on TV - they only watch the Discovery Channel, History Channel, programs about science, animals, etc.  My reponse?  Oh yeah -- earthquakes, floods, fires, wars, bears, and sharks!  And You wonder why You don't get a restful Sleep and You're Stressed the next day?  Really?  Turn it off.  If You do want some sounds playing in the background - Nature sounds or a good Hypnosis audio with positive, healthy suggestions would be much better.

2 -- Use Self Suggestions to lull Yourself to sleep - like counting sheep, but with a Healthy Purpose and Intent!  Here's an example - the most famous suggestion in the world "Every day in every way, I'm getting better and better."  Repeat it silently to Yourself -- very slow, quiet (in Your Mind), soothing, relaxing, BORING voice!  Repeat it with the intention of at least 10 times.  I say intention because with practice You'll find You're going to sleep before You get to 10.  If You get to 10 and You have another thought "Did I pay the phone bill?  Did I lock send that email?"  Then say it at least once more - let it be Your final thought before You got to sleep.
